When approaching a marked pedestrian crossing and no pedestrians are in sight, you should:

Go faster, in case a pedestrian steps onto the crossing.

Slow down and be ready to make a safe stop.

WhyBe aware that pedestrians can be obscured by signage and other vehicles and may step out in front of you. Cover the brake and be ready to stop if necessary.
