Cookie policy

Exactly which cookies Easy Driving Test uses, what each one does, and the choice you control.

The short version

  • Essential cookies are always on. They keep you signed in, hold your test session together and protect the site. The service cannot work without them.
  • Analytics and advertising cookies are your choice. They load only after you press Accept all in the cookie banner. Choose Essential only and we don't load them.
  • You can change your mind any time — use the button below or the Cookie settings link in the footer.

What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file a website stores in your browser so it can recognise you between pages and visits. Some information is stored in your browser's local storage instead — it works much the same way, except it stays on your device and is not sent with every request. This page covers both.

Essential — always on

  • Session identifiers (CFID, CFTOKEN) — keep you signed in and connect your answers to your practice session while you use the site. They are security-flagged and expire on their own.
  • eds_consent — remembers the cookie choice you made, so we don't ask again. Kept for 6 months.
  • Security cookies from our network provider (Cloudflare, for example __cf_bm) — short-lived, used to tell humans from bots and keep the site up.

Preferences — stored on your device only

These live in your browser's local storage. They never leave your device.

  • eds.theme — your light or dark mode choice.
  • eds.consent — a local copy of your cookie choice.
  • Test view state (for example eds.hpt.v2) — small flags like which tab or filter you last used, so screens open the way you left them. Your actual progress and scores are saved to your account on our servers, not in cookies.

Analytics — only with your OK

Today this site measures traffic with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless — it sets no cookie and does not track you across sites.

Where we use Google Analytics, it loads only after you choose Accept all. We use Google's Consent Mode, which means an Essential only choice is passed to Google as "denied" and no analytics cookies (such as _ga) are set by our pages.

Advertising — only with your OK

Free practice pages can be supported by advertising (Google AdSense). Advertising cookies load only after you choose Accept all; with Essential only the ad scripts are not loaded by our pages. Premium members don't see ads on the practice screens at all.

Where ads run with consent, Google may set cookies (such as FCCDCF or FCNEC) to serve and measure ads. You can read more in Google's cookie policy and adjust ad personalisation at Google Ads Settings.

Your choice

The first time you visit, a small banner asks you to pick Accept all or Essential only. Your choice is remembered for 6 months on this browser. Change it whenever you like:

Browser controls

Your browser can also block or delete cookies for any site — look for Privacy or Site settings in its preferences. If you block essential cookies, sign-in and test sessions on this site will stop working. Deleting site data also clears your saved theme and cookie choice, so the banner will ask again.
