Road Trip Planner: Trip to Australia on a Budget!

Australia is one of the largest countries in the world by area (6th, to be precise). It is even bigger than twice the size of India but is smaller than Brazil, China, USA, Canada, and Russia. It has an area of 7,741,220 km2. This huge area is split into six different states; namely New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria, and Western Australia. Australia is home to a lot of things; kangaroos, the Great Barrier Reef, the Sydney Opera House, and many other marvelous things that one can never miss out. It is always a great idea to take a break and over to the huge warm country of Australia for some time off. However, you should never waste your time going there are just wandering around senselessly. It is always a great idea to visit Australia purposefully and we are going to help you with this by becoming your road trip planner for your trip to Australia.

Don't forget that if you are from another country and planning a trip to Australia then you need to get an International Driver’s Permit (IDP).

We have compiled a list of cities you should definitely visit in order to enjoy the fullest of Australia and the Australian culture:

Sydney:

Sydney is the heart and soul of Australia. Although it is not the capital city of Australia, it is probably the most famous city of the huge country. It is located in New South Wales. It is the land of opportunity and a perfect recommendation from us, your road trip planner.

What to visit in Sydney:

There are a lot of options for you when you visit Sydney. Some of them are:

Sydney Opera House:

Not only is this a well-known landmark in Australia but it is the most known landmark. The Sydney Opera House is a marvelous opera house and a really popular tourist attraction that lies on the Syndey Harbour on the edge of the city. Sydney Opera House is a must-see location for everyone and even if you don’t get to see it from the inside (which, by the way, is extremely beautiful), you can still marvel at the unique and amazing design of the exterior of the building. Seeing it up close is just breath-taking.

Sydney Harbour Bridge:

Just like the Opera House, Sydney Harbour Bridge is a place that you can just stare at for hours and hours. It is an architectural beauty and extremely well made to both attract everyone and withstand any kind of pressure put on it; hence it is both beautiful and reliable.

Sydney Harbour:

Sydney Harbour is one of the harbours in the city and is one of the most beautiful places in the entire city. The calm, unending sea, the view of Sydney Opera House nearby, and lots of restaurants located nearby make this landmark an absolutely amazing tourist attraction site.

Sydney Tower:

Sydney Tower is the tallest building in the entirety of Sydney and the view from the top of it is actually pretty good. You can see all of the city around you but from way above. It is advised that people who are afraid of heights should not go there unless they want to remove their fear of heights for which this place is actually pretty good.

Paddy’s Market:

One of the best places to shop around for when you are on a budget, Paddy’s Market is a black-market looking place where you can get everything for cheap and the quality would still be really good. It is perfectly legal, however, so anything you buy from there is good to go and won’t put you in any trouble. Just watch out for pickpockets since it is a really crowded area. Paddy’s Market opens on Wednesday to Sunday usually in the daytime.

Bondi Beach:

Among the most famous beaches, Bondi Beach is the one we consider the best because of its extremely great reviews and marvelous location. This place is really great to visit for not only the surfers but for all sorts of people since the beach is open and welcoming to everyone that visits it.

Queen Victoria Building:

The building is a famous shopping mall but you do not necessarily have to buy anything in order to visit it. You can just go there and marvel at the astonishing architecture that this building has.

Melbourne:

Melbourne is the coolest city of Australia. No, not the temperature kind of coolest, the other type of coolest… The cool in the “cool kids” kind. The graffiti covered streets are really amazing and the architecture of the city is just way out of this world. Definitely worth visiting and experiencing Australian culture up close.

What to visit in Melbourne:

Melbourne, just like Sydney, gives you plenty of options to visit:

The National Gallery of Australia:

The oldest gallery of Australia, the National Gallery of Australia, is a masterpiece with a collection of unique artistic marvels; both national and international.

The Queen Victoria Market:

Food. Great food. That’s what you get in Queen Victoria Market.

Street Art:

As explained before, Melbourne is the “cool kid” of Australia. It is definitely worth visiting the street art that makes Melbourne the best city of Australia when it comes to art.

Perth:

The isolated city of Australia is really beautiful with lush greenery everywhere. The people of Perth are really friendly and the bars and restaurants are welcoming to everyone. As your road trip planner, we would highly recommend you to visit this epic place!

What to visit in Perth:

Swan Valley:

Swan Valley has the best vineyards near Perth. They are definitely worth checking out and tasting fresh, great, cool vine as soon as it is made.

Pinnacles Desert:

Being two hours away from Perth, Pinnacles Desert is an archaeological marvel with several out-of-this-world rocks present in it which were formed more than 25,000 years ago.

Kings Park:

As the name suggest, Kings Park is a huge chunk of land covered with greenery which really lightens the mood.

Adelaide:

Just like Perth, Adelaide is a home to vineyards. The city is also packed with cultural events throughout the year, so go there if you want to experience culture.

What to visit in Adelaide:

Art Gallery of South Australia:

Experience the best of local and international art in the Art Gallery of South Australia.

National Wine Centre:

You know what to do here :-)

Kangaroo Island:

The best place to experience wildlife safari. You should definitely pay a visit to Kangaroo Island to see all the animals; aquatic and terrestrial.

Fleurieu Peninsula:

If you’re into watching whales, Fleurieu Peninsula is the place for you!

Great Barrier Reef:

The Great Barrier Reef is one of the world’s wonders! It is the only place that you can see from the space apart from Makkah, Saudi Arabia. It is definitely worth visiting since this is made of decay of coral reefs and is not actually “land” as people would say. Check out what it is by visiting it yourself!
